India-Armenia Friendship Match From 30 Nov to 02 Dec 2008 the India - Armenia will take place at Red Hall, Russian Cultural Centre, 24 Feroz shah Road, New Delhi, India. Three rounds will be played on four boards. The match will be held according to the World Chess Olympiad regulations: the winning team will get 2 points, the losing team zero point and in case of a draw 1 point each. In case of a tie, the match will be declared as draw. List of the participants: Armenia: GM Andriasian Zaven (Captain), GM Grigoryan Avetik, GM Melkumyan Hrant, FM Ter-Sahakyan Samvel. India: GM Abhijit Gupta (Captain), IM Arun Prasad, IM Deep Sen Gupta, IM G. Rohit, IM B. Adhiban (reserve). The games start at 14:30 (GMT +5.30) .

Levon Babujian’s Success 22-year-old International Master Levon Babujian scored 9.5 points of 15 in the Vasilishin memorial held in Lvov. He shared 2-3 places and fulfilled a Grandmaster norm. This is Babujian’s second success. First time he fulfilled Grandmaster norm this year in Urmia.

Ter-Sahakyan Samvel’s Success 15-year-old Samvel Ter-Sahakyan was a great success at the World Chess Championship in Vietnam. He played in under-18 age group and never lost a point. Ter-Sahakyan gained 8 points of 11 and shared 1-5 places. He took the forth place by additional performance.

Tigran Kotanjian’s Success Grandmaster Tigran Kotanjian scored 8 points of 9 in the open tournament held in Beirut and clearly took the first prize.

David Petrosian’s Success International Master David Petrosyan scored 8.5 points of 11 and took the first place at the “Autumn 1” tournament in Alushta, Ukraine. Gevorg Harutjunyan with 7 points shared 3-5 places at the same tournament. Another tournament started at the end of this tournament. It was “Autumn 3”. Harutjunyan gained 9.5/13 points and shared 2-3 places. David Petrosian fulfilled Grandmaster norm in these two tournaments.

Ter-Sahakyan and Grigoyan are the prize-winners of the European Championship Armenian talented chess players Samvel Ter-Sahakyan and Karen H. Grigoryan succeeded in the European Championship, Montenegro. Ter-Sahakyan took silver medal under-16 and Grigoryan took bronze medal under-14.
