Armenia will once again host some of the world’s top grandmasters

One of the region’s most prestigious and anticipated chess event — the Stepan Avagyan Memorial Tournament — will begin soon.

The tournament is organized by the Chess Academy of Armenia.

This tournament bears the name of Stepan Avagyan, a man whose great dedication and support played an important role in the development of Armenian chess. His legacy continues to live on not only in memories, but also through this tournament, which year after year brings together some of the world’s strongest chess players in Armenia.

Over the years, the Stepan Avagyan Memorial has become one of the most important and anticipated events on the international chess calendar, distinguished by its elite lineup, high organizational standards, and exceptional competitive atmosphere.

Armenia will once again host some of the world’s top grandmasters, becoming the center of elite competition, intellectual battles, and beautiful chess games.
