Tyhran Ambartsumian and Vache Hovakimyan have 4.5 points out of 5

The 2026 FIDE World Youth Chess Championship is underway in Montesilvano, Italy.

After 5 rounds, in the U14 category, FM Tyhran Ambartsumian has 4.5 points and is currently in 2nd place.

In the U18 category, FM Vache Hovakimyan also has 4.5 points and is tied for 2nd place. In the same category, IM Benik Agasarov has 3.5 points.

Among the leaders are also Anahit Mkrtchyan, competing in the G18 category, and WFM Sona Krkyasharyan, competing in the G16 category, who have 3.5 points.

Round 6 will start on June 20 at 17:00 Armenian time.
