Karen Makaryan and Haik Dolmazian became the 2026 Armenian Senior Chess Champions

The Armenian Senior Chess Championship 2026, organized by the Armenian Chess Federation, has concluded.

In the 50+ age group, Karen Makaryan became the champion, scoring 8.5 points out of 9.

Azat Tavakalyan took second place with 7 points.

Vladimir Pogosian finished third with 6.5 points.

In the 65+ age group, Haik Dolmazian won the championship title with 7.5 points out of 9.

Paruyr Hakobyan took second place with 7 points.

Andranik Abrahamyan took third place with 6.5 points.

A special prize was also awarded to Hayk Manukyan, who achieved the best result in the 80+ age category, scoring 6 points and finishing 4th overall in the tournament.
