The European Junior U20 Chess Championship has started

From August 6 to 15, the 2026 European Junior U20 Chess Championship is taking place in Cetinje, Montenegro.

In the Open section, Armenian IM Robert Piliposyan, IM Vahe Sukiasyan, IM Aleks Sahakyan, FM Rudolf Pashikyan, and FM Manvel Arakelyan scored victories in the first round.

In the Girls section, WFM Polina Kobak and Angelina Mirakyan also secured wins.

Round 2 will start on August 7 at 17:00 Armenian time.
