GM Shant Sargsyan, playing with the black pieces, defeated GM Loek van Wely.

GM Haik Martirosyan drew with GM Anish Giri, while GM Manuel Petrosyan drew with GM Erwin L'Ami.

After 8 rounds, the Armenian men's team has 13 team points out of 16 and is in 9th place.

In the 9th round, Armenia will face the Azerbaijani team.
