The first day of the FIDE World Blitz Championship has concluded

Armenian chess players are among the leaders after the first day of the 2025 FIDE World Blitz Championship.

In the Open Championship, GM Haik Martirosyan has 9 points out of 13 and shares the 10th–20th places.

In the next round, Haik will face the highest-rated chess player, GM Magnus Carlsen.

GM Aram Hakobyan has 8.5 points, and GM Robert Hovhannisyan has 8 points.

In the Women's Championship, GM Elina Danielian has 7 points out of 10 and shares the 7th–17th places.

The Open Championship will be held in 19 rounds, while the Women's Championship in 15 rounds.

The second day of play will start on December 30 at 15:00 Armenian time.
