There are three rounds left until the end of the European Individual Chess Championship

The 2026 European Individual Chess Championship, currently taking place in Katowice, Poland, has three rounds remaining until the end.

After round 8, the sole leader of the tournament is Spanish GM David Anton Guijarro with 7 points.

Armenian GM Haik Martirosyan and GM Robert Hovhannisyan have 6 points and share 11th place.

Among the Armenian players, GM Shant Sargsyan, GM Emin Ohanyan, and GM Artur Davtyan are also among the leaders with 5.5 points.

GM Mamikon Gharibyan, GM Manuel Petrosyan, IM Arsen Davtyan, IM Vahe Sukiasyan, and FM Tyhran Ambartsumian  have 5 points.

GM Gabriel Sargissian has 4.5 points. The same score is held by IM Robert Piliposyan and FM Hayk Yeritsyan.

Round 9 will start on April 16 at 17:00 Armenian time.
