Stepan Avagyan Youth Memorial Tournament

The Stepan Avagyan Youth Memorial Tournament has kicked off in Jermuk, Armenia.

During the opening ceremony, a film dedicated to the bright memory of Stepan Avagyan was screened. It was produced by the Chess Academy of Armenia as a sign of respect and gratitude.

Then, Chief Arbiter IA Gevorg Muradyan delivered a welcome speech and presented the tournament regulations.

The drawing of lots was conducted by Stepan Avagyan’s grandson, little Stepan — a touching reminder that chess traditions and values are passed down from generation to generation.

The tournament will take place from June 28 to July 4 in four age categories: under 8, 10, 12, and 18.

We wish everyone good luck and exciting games.
