International Scientific and Practical Conference "Theory and Practice of Chess Education"

How can chess contribute to education, personal development, and new approaches to teaching and learning?

These questions will be explored at the International Conference "Theory and Practice of Chess Education," taking place on October 1-2, 2026, in Tsaghkadzor, Armenia, within the framework of FIDE Year of Education 2026.

Co-organized by the Chess Scientific Research Institute of the Armenian State Pedagogical University and the International School Chess Federation, the conference will bring together researchers, educators, and chess experts from different countries to share research, experience, and innovative approaches to chess education.

The scientific programme covers five main areas:
Chess and Personal Development
Teaching and Learning Methods of Chess
Chess in Inclusive Education
Chess Teacher Training (in-service and pre-service)
Chess and Digital Literacy

The conference will be held in a hybrid format, with both in-person and online participation, and the working language will be English.
