FIDE has awarded Aghasi Inants a special commemorative medal

In recognition of his outstanding contribution to the development and promotion of Armenian chess over the past 15 years, his consistent representation of Armenian and international chess at the highest level on global platforms, his personal sponsorship of numerous tournaments, and his support for the participation of talented Armenian players in international events, FIDE has honored Aghasi Inants with a special commemorative medal.



Here is a brief summary of the work and achievements of Aghasi Inants:

A Master of Sport of the Republic of Armenia, FM Aghasi Inants has made an important contribution to the growth of Armenian chess. He is a member of the Armenian Chess Federation Council and works very hard, both in Armenia and other countries, to promote Armenian chess worldwide.



Recognized as one of the world’s foremost professionals in chess media, Inants was appointed by FIDE and other organizing bodies to key roles at major events from 2011 to 2018. These included the Chess Olympiad, the Candidates Tournament, the FIDE Grand Prix, the World Team Championships, and the World Rapid and Blitz Championships.





From 2012 to 2018, he was also the author and host of the television program "Chess World", broadcast by Public Television of Armenia.





Inants has personally sponsored several tournaments, including the Tsaghkadzor Open, the Andranik Margaryan Memorial, and the World Championship for Players with Disabilities. He has also consistently supported the participation of top Armenian youth players in the annual international tournament held in Jermuk.



In recent years, he has provided financial support to Armenian chess players aged 8 to 18, enabling their participation in European and World Youth Championships.



Thanks to his unwavering dedication and sincere commitment, Aghasi Inants has rightfully earned this recognition. The commemorative medal was presented to him by Armen Gevorgyan, Executive Director of the Armenian Chess Federation, during a ceremony dedicated to International Chess Day.
